Wedding Dress

Picture
I absolutely did not want to go dress shopping. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a dress I would wear for one day of my life, even if it was a super important dress or whatever. I am pretty much a bargain shopper to begin with. So, I started scouring websites and anything with a clearance. I am a size 14, so I knew some of these dresses would just make me look bigger. I ended up going on David's Bridal clearance one night in December and found my dress. With shipping it was $330, which was under my budget. I got it in a few days, it fit and I was done.

I have to get the top taken in a bit and a bustle. Also, it came in the mail so it obviously got a little wrinkled. I am actually very pleased with this style, because A-lines tend to make me look heavier.

Veils

Picture
I bought two veils on ebay, because I can't decide on the length. Both are ivory, one chapel, the other elbow length. I definitely want to wear a veil, either way. I am considering the chapel length for the ceremony and the elbow length for the reception. Together the veils were about $35 with shipping.

Wedding Jewelry

This is the one wedding attire thing that I was thrilled about shopping for. I absolutely love big earrings, so when I first started shopping I had to look far for earrings that were bigger than 2 inches. These are a little larger than 2.5 inches. Also, I really didn't want something too sparkley. I know that is weird, but on my wedding day, I didn't want to wear CZ, which is funny because I have no problem wearing it any other day.

I bought these on Overstock, but they are Novica. They are pink pearls with sterling silver.

I actually just went ahead and searched Novica after I bought the earrings to find a matching necklace. I wanted something pearl, but not too boring. I ended up with this necklace (except mine are pink pearls). As you can tell the pink pearls are more of pale pink, which is great. My dress is ivory with champagne satin, so I really didn't want a BRIGHT WHITE set of pearls.

Something Old

My dad and stepmom gave this ring to me last Christmas. It was my dad's mother's ring. She had tiny, tiny fingers so right now it only fits my pinky. Either I am going wear it on my pinky or I will get it made larger to fit my middle finger.

Something Blue

Picture
I had not planned on wearing a garter, since we're not even doing a garter toss. I bought this impulsively one day off of etsy. I really like it (and it was custom made for plus-size thighs!), so I will probably wear it, at least for a while.

It came with a tossing garter, so I have no idea what I am going to do with the second one.

Something Borrowed

Picture
I want to have a something borrowed, but I am not sure what. I would really like to borrow something of my mom's mom (since I am wearing something of my dad's mom). I'm pretty sentimental like that. I still plan asking my mom and aunt if there is something of my grandmother's that I can borrow.

Update: My mom actually came back from a visit with my aunt in July with hair pins that were originally my grandmother's mother's. There are only two and sort of look like these pins. They will probably be unnoticable, but at least I will have my something borrow
