Matt had asked for a long time about what I wanted from an engagement ring. While I knew it was coming, he refused to actually let me look for rings. On occasion he would ask opinions on band widths, diamond cut, and metal type. He ended up getting my ring custom designed by Quest Jewelers in Fairfax, VA.  As we are located in Florida, they completely worked with Matt through email and phone calls for the search for the diamond and design of the band.

The ring is a 1.54 carat asscher cut center stone.
The band is platinum with 1 carat of side stones.

I tried on other bands when we finally visited Quest Jewelers in person (during a trip to visit his family), however I decided to just have a band made to match the stones on engagement ring. They began making it in early June and we got it in early July. I am really thrilled about how it looks, although I am unsure if it is too much diamonds. (I really can't go back on it now though!)

Matt is getting his band custom designed also. Mainly because he has big man hands and he wants something larger than a standard 8mm. It will be 11mm. He is still wavering between palladium and platinum, but he is leaning towards palladium.

This is the style he likes. He wants the line to be 2mm.
